5 Delicious Morning Drinks to Start Your Day
One of the first things I do in the morning is make my cup of coffee. Like most people my morning drink is an essential part of my morning routine. I wake up at 8 am and honestly, it never gets easier. Truth be told I’m not a morning person no matter how hard I try, and my coffee is the one thing that can get me out of bed. Why do I get up so early then? Well, my desire to make the most out of my day is stronger than my desire to sleep in (but don’t get it twisted, my desire to stay asleep is still pretty strong).

Part of what gets me out of bed is that I look forward to my delicious, French pressed coffee. It seems silly, but it’s delicious and eases me into my day. It’s a bit ritualistic for me, steeping my coffee grounds and mixing it with my favorite creamer is relaxing to me.
I’ve gone through many morning drinks. Some for detoxing, others for extra caffeine. Right now I’m going through a coffee phase again because my long days at work and early mornings definitely call for it. In my younger days I didn’t need more than a simple cup of tea, and when trying to combat some health issues my morning detox drink got me feeling right. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite morning drinks through the years hoping you’ll spot one to add to your morning routine!
Cold Brew Coffee
I highly suggest trying cold brew for iced coffee lovers. It’s smoother tasting that hot brewed coffee and is easily made overnight. Mixed with a bit of liquid sweetener and you have a delicious iced coffee. If you can't wait to steep it overnight, you can always buy the premade kind as well!
Morning Detox Drink
This drink is made with a mix of hot water, Acv, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, lemon, & honey. This warm detox drink is best had on an empty stomach to get your digestive system moving for the day!
Matcha Green Tea
For green tea lovers who need an extra kick in the morning, matcha tea is the way to go! With more caffeine and antioxidants than a regular cup of green tea it’s an ideal drink to wake you up in the morning. Add in milk and sugar for a matcha tea latte!
Spiced Chai Latte
This savory tea combines spices with black tea and steamed milk to make a delicious morning drink. This was my go to drink when I was trying to transition away from coffee for a while and I still find myself enjoying a cup once or twice a week. You can make it yourself or buy the tea bags. I highly suggest using Bigelow's Spiced Chai tea bags. I find them the most flavorful; many other brands I've tried just haven't had enough spice for me.
Green tea is a timeless drink packed with health benefits such as weight loss, antioxidants and more. It's a healthy choice to kickstart your day. Add a little flavor with honey and lemon.
